Could be useful to just know findings though in some cases - ex. At what age does child develop however, without theory we don"t know why child calls other men. Child can"t differentiate men because they look similar as opposed to different women. Could be linguistic - maybe child has mis-learned word, think. Could be communicative - infant knows better inside but is trying to communicate (word is hard to communicate - choose best alternative) Each explanation/theory makes different predictions - each has different commitments about children and development. Writes first scientific article (published) at age 10 or 11 on albino sparrows. Many of his studies are on his own children (jacqueline, lucienne, and laurent) not experimenting lol just observing very carefully.
