Rem: darting of the eyes underneath closed eyelids during sleep nonrem sleep: stages 1-4, rapid eye mvmts dont occur and dreaming is less frequent and vivid. Rem sleep:stage of sleep during which the brain is most active and vivid dreaming most often occurs. Lucid dreaming: experience of becoming aware that one is dreaming. Narcolepsy: rapid and often unexpected onset of sleep. Sleep apnea: blockage of airway during sleep, result in daytime fatigue. Night terrors: sudden waking episodes w screaming, perspiring, confusion followed by return to a deep sleep.
