People have favourable or unfavourable reactions but not all same. Ambivalent attitudes are easier to change: mix of + and - feelings. Influence thoughts + initial step to make sense of world. Often affect b esp when attitudes are strong. Affectively based (emotional component: based on individual feelings toward object, person, or situation, ex. I get scared when i see a spider. Behaviourally based: based on individual observations of how they behave toward object, person, or situation, ex. I will not scream when i see spiders. Cognitively based: based on individual thoughts + beliefs toward object, person, or situation, ex. A) i love yoga bc i get to do mediation + c) i believe it helps me relax so b) ill go to class each week. When unsure of attitudes toward something, we think back to past b toward that thing to determine how we feel.
