Natural law- in nature an inbuilt order of things with requirements men should identify with and follow. It was thought to be common ground for different cultures and religions. Over time, it lost persuasive power with development of science. After ww2- new interest in the idea to set universal principles and moral limits to what states are allowed to do to their subjects.
