Gender: comprises of the feelings, attitudes, and behaviours associated with being male or female. Gender identity: identification with, or sense of belonging to, a particular sex biologically, psychologically, and socially. Gender role: when people behave according to widely shared expectations about how males and females are supposed to act. Evidence suggests that if gender reassignment takes place before the age of 18 months, it tends to be successful". Xx sex chromosomes = woman, xy sex chromosomes = man. Heteronormativity: the belief that one"s biological sex should be perfectly aligned with one"s sexual preferences, gender identity, and gender role.
