The term that describes efforts to use he different strengths of different media to reach broader audiences and tell the world"s stories in new ways. They are more modern, but still uphold the same journalistic essentials such as fairness and accuracy. Three things define news: relevance, usefulness, interest. Journalists must use this information in a specific context to make it relevant to their audience. News is not just a collection of facts, it"s a story being told. It"s news coverage, usually online, by people who don"t work for commercial companies. Their outlets cover communities and issues not covered by local stations and papers. It is to provide people with the information they need to be free and self-governing. The placing of issues on the public agenda for discussion and decision. The process by which some events and ideas become news and others do not.
