o Understand the approaches and topics studied in archaeology

Exams
Taken online
o Have to download Lockdown Browser so that you can't go to other sites
o Just….prit out your otes ahead of tie - no biggie
We won't meet on exam days
o Ideally you'll use "class time" to take the exam but you technically have all day
The final exam is not cumulative
o This will also be given online
o Will open at the start of exam week and is due the day of our final (according to Baylor)
o Once you start the timer starts
o Have to start and finish by midnight on December 12th
If you start at 2359 you'll only have 60 seconds
o 50 questions - give yourself enough time!
Exams are stressful enough as is, just trying to alleviate some of your stress
There are no makeup exams unless there's an emergency
o They're given online and everywhere has Wi-Fi - there are no excuses
Dates
o Exam 1 - Thursday (9/21) - all day, online
o Exam 2 - Thursday (11/02) - all day, online
o Final Exam - December 12th - available all of finals week
Group Project
The last 1/3 of the course will be focused on this project
Focus on one culture using the topics/skills discussed in the first 2/3 of the class
The presentation is worth 5%
There's a 2-3 page paper discussing the project worth 10%

Used for attendance - makes up 20% of your class so make sure you're here!!
o She's going to make a seating chart online
o If you come late, make sure you talk to her afterwards so you don't miss getting counted
o Come early Tuesday, that's the day she's making the seating chart
The PowerPoints are online
o Print your slides
o Taking 100% longhand will hella stress you out
Technology
It's been proven that information retention is increased when you handwrite you notes
o When you're typing you try to take notes verbatim - it's a natural tendency
Technology distracts you and your classmates - it's no bueno
Have to talk to OALA to ask for permission to use a laptop
o If you get this accommodation please be polite and sit in the back of the class
