b. Busters: Experienced, tech savvy, heterogeneous, independent
c. Boomlets: inexperienced, low commitment, self-directed, tech dominant,
interest-oriented
3. Workforce is getting older as boomers stay in jobs to mid-70s
and soon there will be a 11 million job gap between Busters and
Boomers as Boomers retire
4. Workforce is becoming more ethnically and racially diverse
through immigration and population growth, increasingly Asian
and Hispanic
5. Workforce is becoming less well-educated as quality of
education declines and graduation rate continues to drop.

a. 97% of youth hope to go to college but only 30% receive degrees
b. People without high school education are projected to be eliminated by

III. We need to develop professional skills of our employees, manage employees
performance, increase satisfaction of workers, and utilize talent wherever it is
found to fix problems.
IV. The problem is that too few workers are coming into workforce, the workforce
is under skilled, there is a widening skill gap, there is greater ethnic diversity and
more complex management, and rapid introduction of automation in service.
