Sammie dean"s mom accosted mrs. huckaby (vice principle )at a hearing about. Father was one of the top-notch segregationalists in little rock and very outspoken, how sd was taught. Sammie is pretty, like a doll, but considered white trash because of the way she acted. She was the girl about town overt sexuality : smacks of sexuality but a cheap kind, married the boyfriend with whom she had gone steady throughout that time. Taken to jail, kicking, spitting, scratching, policeman couldn"t do anything with her, she was out of control. Segregationist women who by weighing in defend the status quo betrayed it, because women stay in the kitchen and teachers/learns traditional values. Small ponytailed girl irked the authorities: ponytailed segregationist leader, aggressive. Minnijean had look-down-your-nose-at-me attitude, haughty, snotty, overweight and easy to tease (vs. sd small) not actually overweight. Tangled with policemen, fellow students and the vps. Ultimately expelled (like minnijean) for distributing cards after minnijean saying.
