92 views2 pages

Document Summary

Interstitial fluid: fluid found in cells- used more when looking at an entire tissue (fluid outside of cell- similar to extracellular fluid) Blood can be spoken about as an entire tissue. When we take blood out, cells will settle according to what they are- can be done with a centrifuge. Bottom- erythrocytes (making up half of total volume). Right above= white thin layer- buffy coat= wbcs and platelets. If we"re too hot, blood is transported to the surface so heat can be lost through the skin. Proteins found in blood are plasma proteins- there"s a large variety. A lot of them hold enough water in the blood. They also contribute to movement of things that aren"t hydrophilic- iron, hormones, etc. Some of them contribute to blood clot formation. Plasma and interstitial fluid can be thought of as a continuation of each other. Plasma has higher level of proteins, solutes and oxygen.
