Self interest: pursuing it is rational, best candidate for moral point of view. Enlightened egoist if you want to prosper, you cant be ignorant of others wants and needs. Shortsighted egoist goes for pleasure, without considering welfare of others, skeptical of this. Moral reasons superior to reasons of self-interest: morality arises when interests conflict. Yes to reason, only use intuition when you don"t have time for reason. If there is a conflict between self interest, choose the moral way (10 commandments) Enlightened egoism benefits you and society, aware that sometimes pleasure must be deferred. Treat people well because one day you may need them. Self-regarding reasons are better than other regarding reasons: ex. Capitalism makes some sense, self interest.
