Shi lu was an official member of the ccp, and he is said to have idolized mao, and even resembled him facially. Huang yongyu"s eternal window (1967) depicts a fake window which the artist painted under certain conditions. Huang yongyu"s winking owl almost resulted in the artist"s death. For the rest of the artist"s life, he used the owl as a symbol. Ding cong created sculpture out of sponge during the cultural revolution.
