Psychological data- allowing you to interact with another person on the basis of what you know about her/his distinct characteristics as a human being. Cultural data- are based on information that you have about what you consider common behavior in a society. Sociological data- to interact with others using what you know about the communal role a person plays in a particular context. Implicit rules - unwritten or unspoken mutual agreement. Explicit rules- written or spoken mutual agreement. Interpersonal communication principles: principles- are primary concepts that are presumed true and are relevant to a specific discipline. Irreversible -can"t take back what you said. Unrepeatable -impossible to communicate the exact same thing without changing our behavior. This transfer of messages can be either intentional/unintentional as well as both verbal and nonverbal in nature: noise- anything that may cloud the overall clarity of the message and hinder understanding with the intended effect and meaning.
