Differences between ca constitution and us constitution . Ca constitution is much longer than that of the us. It has over 100 pages and with 8,000 federal words and 80,000 state words. It sets up the basic structure of california"s government. The us constitution has 27 amendments while the california constitution consist of hundreds of different propositions and initiative. The president is a unitary (one) executive and people are appointed and fired from the executive branches at his/her discreti on. In ca we elect a governor but they can"t appoint many key positions in their branch instead we vote on them. The people of the state vote and elect most of the executive branch in ca. Our governor also has the power to reduce spending or eliminate any appropriation in a spending bill, also called line item veto, unlike the us president. Power that governor has to reduce appropriations on spending. Can eliminate any appropriation in a spending bill.
