Rec 141 introduction to recreation & leisure services. Students will demonstrate through this assignment an increased depth in understanding (cid:862)leisure. Each student will visit 2 different leisure-service settings and interview a supervisor, manager, or director in charge of each program. One interview must include a governmental/public agency (not a school): city or county park, recreation or community services department, state or national park or recreation area. Choose your second interview from one of the following categories: Commercial recreation & leisure enterprises: theme parks, ski centers/resorts, bowling alleys, nightclubs, movie theaters, health spas and fitness centers, professional sports stadiums, travel & tourism organizations. Hospitality: hotel or resort, theme restaurant with entertainment, cruise line company. Private membership organizations: golf, tennis, yacht, athletic, & country clubs. Nonprofit or youth serving agencies: boy/girl scouts, camp fire, boys & girls clubs, ymca/ywca, religious youth groups, 4h-clubs. Intramural athletics, sports clubs: trip and travel programs, all other recreation on campus.
