Don"t forget to also review your in- class exercises and homework exercises (except for hw#3 that i did not pass back yet). 1. what is baseflow recession and what causes it to occur: during summer months, we start to have a leveling off or decrease in the discharge. The hydrograph of a stream during a period with no excess precipitation will decay, following an exponential curve. The discharge is composed entirely of ground-water contributions. As the stream drains water from the ground-water reservoir, the water table falls, leaving less and less ground water to feed the stream.
