Status offenses: acts that are criminalized precisely because of
the age of the offender
Ex. truancy, running away, tobacco, alcohol use)
Delinquent offenses: acts that are analogous to adult crimes;
violation of legal statutes
A DUI or murder are the same no matter the age
Mala in se: illegal by their very nature; considered violations of
natural law
Evil in of itself (rape, kidnapping, murder) - violate all
understanding of what is right
Mala prohibita: illegal by legislation
Violate laws, but may not be morally evil (drinking,
reckless driving, fake ID, etc.)

Normal for a 20 year old
Looked at oddly for a 45 year old
Seen as impressive at age 14
Seen as a genius at age 8
The value of a skill/crime/act is all relative
