A problem with astronomy is that you see pictures without context. One of the first pictures where we could look down on earth was taken by apollo. A moon and a satellite can be used interchangeably in astronomy. They both mean something that orbit something else. Pictures of planets are not often to scale. Saturn: over 108,000 km from top to bottom. Venus and earth are relatively the same size. Because venus is closer to the sun, it quickly overheated and is now completely inhospitable to life. Mars is the only planet with the ability to sustain life. 99. 9% of the material in the solar system is taken up by the sun. Once the star burns off the gas and dust around, the star becomes visible and we can see star clusters. Galaxies contain: stars, gases, planets, and solar systems. It is on a collision course with our own galaxy.
