My plan for self-improvement is to decrease the amount of stress that is present in my life by committing to manage my time in a more effective manner. Currently, due to my poor planning and organization, my stress builds due to lack of productivity. My negative coping reactions add further to that stress level, and it increases. I plan to implement three methods to help me reduce stress, following the four step stress management process taught in class, and reasserted on saint john"s university"s webpage1. The first step of this management process is to recognize my current stressors. I have categorized my stressors into two categories, one external, and the other internal. The external stressor is not likely to change until may, because it is school work and my studies. The requirements are not increasing, and i do not have any control over this particular stressor (hence the term external. )
