Document Summary
As you have learned this semester, the field of communication studies is composed of three distinct areas: communication theory, rhetoric, and performance. Though these areas contain their differences, they are interrelated in some way. Each contains an agent who delivers a message to some audience, and that message carries with it some meaning. Another commonality that exists between the three areas is the importance of values. For your final project, you (the agent) will create a presentation (the message) that will convey some social significance (meaning) to the class (the audience). Your message will, in some way, reflect your personal value system or express, question, or criticize a value system present within our culture. There are many types of plagiarism, with varying degrees of seriousness. This type occurs when one student produces the work and allows another student to copy and present that work as his or her own. In this case, both students are guilty of plagiarism.
