Deception - one person intentionally misleading another person, doing so deliberately, without prior notification and without being asked to do so. 2 types of lies: benevolent white lies, not necessarily damaging to our relationships, could tell to protect peoples feelings, malicious can be damaging to another person, damaging to a relationship. We prefer to conceal rather than falsify because: Why to lie: protect our partner don"t want to hurt them, self-focus reasons: to protect ourselves and to protect our image.
