Today"s menu: wednesday 11 january 2017: business, practice problems, questions and exercises at end of textbook chapters, answers on moodle, chapter 1: 2-6, 9, 10, labs do not meet this week. Substance: syllabus, overview, note on text: chapter and page numbering, the basic basics, definitions, economics, study of how societies provision themselves with material needs of existence. Books, coffee, universities, all of those things: not just talking about physical but also services, ex. Haircuts are not physical but you see the results of the service: looking at aspects of human behavior and interactions, economies. Individuals interacting between each other backs, etc: subset of human interactions that involve the provisioning of material needs of existence, every human society has had to provision themselves with the basic needs of life. The way different societies have organized this behavior has varied. In the 20th century it was done by social structure.
