Plato ask the reader to envision a deep tunnel and all in sight is the light at the very end . In this tunnel lie many prisoners(only children) who"s heads were chained to only face forward. In front of the prisoners is a curtain-wall has been built, like the screen at puppet shows between the operators and their audience, above which they show their puppets. Plato ask the reader to try to gain insight from the prisoners point of view. Who cannot look back , whos head is only fixated on what is in front of him. This is a direct reflection of human mentality. Plato begins by responding to the remarks (unknown) makes of him . Implying that he is very good at deceiving the masses.
