Paterfamilias: head of the family, has great authority, in roman law, he had absolute control over the family. Also kind of the religious head of the family, worshiped the gods and ancestors. Patricians, plebeians: these reflected in social status and class, the patricians were the very wealthy and dominant families, extremely privileged.
