Initially they could build a car in four hours and with the assembly line they could produce one in 93 minutes. Ford became so efficient that they soon had a five day work week. River rouge plant: contained everything necessary for the making of one car. By 1929 there was one car for every 5 people. Because they could produce these cars so quickly it dropped the price for a model t from 840 to less than 300 dollars: construction. As people bought more cars they started to demand better roads. As the roads were paved they moved further out and more homes were built. Had the construction for the first suburbs for upper class. Enormous explosion of automobiles made other industries grow as well. Henry ford was someone who people went to for advice. These guys were what was believed what good american people looked like.
