We began to use wellness because health was too narrow: physical probably thought about most, emotional/mental* if you are not mentally healthy, you cannot even begin to work on other aspects of wellness. It is the foundation; it is critical to make sure you are mentally well. Self- esteem is the key to mental health. Intellectual what you know about the world around you. What people tend to be the weakest on: spiritual mostly focuses on religion, social interacting with others, environmental/planet caring about the environment (added about 30-40 years ago) We cannot possess wellness unless we are good at all of them. We do this because health is an active process, meaning we take control of them. Difficult to work on wellness because it"s easy to say we are the way we are due to someone or something else. It"s hard to change wellness because to change it we have to change behavior.
