Trauma is a physical injury or wound produced by an external or internal force. Mechanical injury is a force applied to any part of the body resulting in a harmful disturbance. Load external force causes inside reaction in tissues. Yield point when tissue is so deformed elasticity is weak. Plastic deformation to tissue after load is removed. Creep deformation of tissue caused by a constant load over time. Mechanical failure exceeding ability to withstand stress on tissue causing tissue to breakdown. Shearing surfaces move in parallel direction result in blisters. Bending two force pairs act at opposite ends of structure. Torsion twisting in opposite direction cause stress over entire mid-section of structure. Muscle guarding muscle contraction in response to pain. Concussion: damage of tissue and organs on head. Subluxation: joint pops out and goes back in. Avulsion fractures: tearing away of ligament or tendon/muscle attachment at bone. Osteoarthritis: wearing down hyaline cartilage (inflammation of bone/joint)
