Sensory info is important for all theories of motor control and learning- in all theories, you need information before any action can happen. You need information before the movement to start an action. Greatest concentration of receptors is in the fingertips and there is a large concentration in the face as well. Tactile make sure you can type, pick up things, etc. Pain nocereceptors if you feel pain, you move your limb away from the pain. If you cut someone"s hand, they become less accurate in typing, etc. We rely on tactile information to make adjustments in force. If you are able to touch the beginning and end of a distance, you will be much better at estimating the distance correctly. The sensory system"s detection and reception of movement and spatial position of limbs, trunk and head. Detect changes in muscle fiber length (stretch) and velocity (speed and direction of the stretch)
