This includes people who seek treatment from different places over several years. The symptoms also cause impairment in daily functioning. Conversion disorder: presence of symptoms or deficits affecting voluntary motor or sensory function that suggest a neurological or other general medical condition, even though one is not present. Examples include sudden blindness, paralysis of one or more body parts, areas of pain, etc. These symptoms are real, but they have no medical explanation and are not caused by substance use.
