Master status: cuts across your other statusessome are ascribed (sex) and some are achieved (become very wealthy) Status inconsistency: when people have a mismatach among their statuses; discrepancy. When belonging to a group, we yield to others the right to judge ou rbehavior. Social structure: typical patters of a group such as the usual relationships between men and women; guides our behavior. Culture: a group"s languages, beliefs, values, behaviors, gestures; includes material objects a group uses.
