Material culture: any physical object that we give social meaning, fast food restaurants, cell phones, cars, computers, etc, norts - nike shorts sorority trend. Folkways- not critical; not serious consequences: not brushing teeth. Mores- very important: adult having sex with a child. Laws: norms that are defined and enforced by a political authority. Sanctions: rewards for appropriate behavior and penalties for inappropriate behavior, hugs- good sanction, giving fire - negative sanction.
