Then feudalism began and there was no central government. Then free market capitalism came into place and massive trade took place. What they all have in common is that someone is becoming very wealthy: capitalism: based on competition. Some stimuli deserve rewards/punishments: causes us to drop punishable behaviors. Test 1: b. f. skinner revived behaviorism in 1930"s and called it "operant conditioning". Which is human behavior based on rewards and punishments. It fails to take human"s cognitive abilities into account. As humans we have higher cognitive abilities, language, hands, we walk upright, have full rotation of our shoulders, efficient cooling due to little hair, can run longer than any animal, omnivorous. All of these things make us less specialized to our environment than animals. We can shape behavior, protect ourselves, invent tools, food supplies.
