For our viewing assignment, we were tasked with watching the documentaries bowling for columbine and koyaanisqatsi. I believe the reason we were tasked with watching these films is because of the fact that they portray their messages in differing ways than one another. Bowling for columbine focuses on a rhetorical angle to portray their intended message, while koyaanisqatsi instead uses the expository method. In michael moore"s bowling for columbine, he uses one of the nation"s most tragic massacre to conduct his argument regarding gun violence in america, and portrays his message using rhetorical portrayal. For instance, the film starts with rhetoric immediately trying to convince the audience to side with a certain viewpoint before the film has even begun to play out. Dubuque jr. 2 that i came to learn from research, rather moore makes a point to let every one of his interviewees know of his membership before or during the interview.
