o 1. Made-To-Stock (MTS):
▪ also known as mass production
▪ product is built to a sales forecast and sold to the customer from a
finished goods stock
▪ Supply chain does NOT know who the customer is
▪ Example =
• Little League bubble gum
o 2. Assemble-To-Order (ATS):
▪ product is built to customer specifications from a stock of existing
components
▪ Customers can choose amongst various standard components in arriving
at their own products
▪ Example =
• buying a laptop and customizing storage and appearance based
on what the store offers in terms of options
• mutant getting his shirts made in China with custom
measurements
• picking the colors and features on a new car that you buy
o 3. Made-To-Order (MTO):
