-Charts:
o Used for controlling the proportion of defective services or products generated
by the process
o 1. Sampling for a -chart involves a yes/no answer
▪ the distribution of values around the average is assumed to be a normal
distribution
o 2. z is the number of standard deviations under consideration
▪ usually 3
o 3. If the p values are within UCL and LCL, then the process defects are in
statistical control
o Example:
▪ For the total number of observations, you need to do 12 * 2,500 because
2,500 refers to the number of different bank accounts and there are 12
observations in total
▪ refers to the average number of defects as expressed as a percentage
▪ When plotting on the graph, also need to convert the wrong accounts
number to a percentage
