Xenobiotics: useless nonbiomolecules that do not belong in the body, we have a lot in the body, ex: mercury and arsenic from seafood, plastic water bottles, etc. Biomarkers: answer questions about health or disease (ex: measure glucose in urine to test for diabetes) Natural products: substances from plants: we have a lot in common with all living molecules, they make good medicines, metabolites, huge number of natural products. Omics: proteome, metabolome, genome, interactome, analogy: watching a game on television is not the same as going to the game. If you look at the bigger picture of things, you get a better diagnosis.
