The second midterm will follow roughly the same format as the first, with a short answer section and one essay (with some choice in both sections of which questions to answer). While the questions will largely be drawn from the study guide below, you may be asked to elaborate or to draw connections across the topics we have covered in the second part of the course. With the exception of the analytical perspectives covered in lecture 2 (collective action, institutions, etc. ) the material for the exam will be drawn only from topics covered since the last midterm. As i mentioned in class, make sure that your answers to questions are logical, specific (including bringing in concrete examples and naming relevant authors), and accurate in how they describe concepts and other authors" arguments. Consider how specific authors lippmann, lupia and mccubbins, menand, etc. , might answer these questions.
