Participant: 24 males, white, middle class with no criminal background or psychological impairment to have no extraneous variables. It was unethical because the young men suffered verbally, physically, the guards felt guilty. For example, the prisoners were strip and called names for the genitals. The prisoners suffered great torment and several of them had mental breakdowns where they were crying, yelling, screaming, curling up, etc. The consent form was broken, where the guards started to abuse the prisoners. It caused him to be blind of the experiment, where he didn"t stop the guard from committing horrible acts of abuse for the prisoners. - zimbardo himself started to become internalized in the experiment. Zimbardo was too involved in the experiment and couldn"t make decisions.
