Is what we do with our family normal or strange: race is a social distinction because we make it so. Gender: children learn gender, they learn what it means to be a woman and a man, children learn to perform gender, why do men and women learn to act different in certain social situations. Bathroom: gender segregated, there is a designated area for bathrooms, etiquette- eyes forward, hygiene, clean facility, privacy, bathrooms are free, toilet paper. How do we know things about the social world: explore and know, collect data. Societal pressure- our actions are affected by society. Republican because parents and louisiana is mainly republican. Be able to observe how people interact with each other and why we act a certain way in certain situations.
