Prenatal: conception to birth, fetus, 10 month process. Infancy: first year or two, book says 0-24 months. Toddler: two or three, book does not use this term. Cohort effect developmental influences due to time birth, era, or generation. Trust v. mistrust (0-1yr) a sense of trust requires a feeling of physical comfort & minimal amount of fear about the future. Infant"s basic needs are met by responsive, sensitive caregivers.
