Description
Chap 11 1. Cell Cycle   Cellular reproduction  : a new generation of cells, involves Mitosis followed by  cytokinesis Once S begins, the cycle has a builtin molecular break in G1   Postmitotic cell : diploid cells that don’t undergo mitosis (most neurons) Adverse condition can stop cell cycle (nutrient deprieved)   Spindle Apparatus  : two distinct sets of microtubules, extends from each of the  cell poles, moves chromosomes during mitosis   Kinetochore  : site where chromosomes attach to the spindle 2. Mitosis Involves sister chromatids Asexual reproduction Occurs in somatic cells Produces clones of cells 2 diploid cells  3.
