Saas (software as a service) refers to a third-party software-replacing service that is delivered online. Typically requires the least amount of support and maintenance. Paas (platform as a service) delivers tools (platform) so an organization can develop, test, and deploy software in the cloud. These could include programming languages, database software, and product testing and deployment software. Iaas (infrastructure as a service) offers an organization an alternative to buying its own physical hardware. Computing, storage, and networking resources are instead allocated and made available over the internet and are paid for based on the amount of resources used. Iaas offers the most customization, with firms making their own choices on what products to install, develop, and maintain on the infrastructure they license.
