Institution: what they chose to be make, and how they represent the world. Studying the audience shows why the media is the way it is. Often thought of in terms of economic and political power. Counter- hegemony: ideological resistance and appropriation frequently involve reinventing institutional messages for purposes that differ greatly from their creators intentions. Prosumer: a person who consumes and produces media. Mediasphere: the collective ecology of the world"s media, including newspapers, journals, television, radio, books, novels, advertising, press releases, publicity and the blogosphere; any and all media both broadcast and published.
