Document Summary

Wednesday discussion section: biological determinism is the idea that the actual biology of an individual (male or female) dictates and effects their actions, abilities, and other human characteristics. The biology of an individual refers to their genetic makeup, hereditary factors, and includes all scientific discoveries about the male and female body during the respective time. For instance, woman are perceived as being controlled by their hormones and one source of evidence is the fact that they menstruate. Therefore, women are dictated by emotions and pms which men consider a problem and have to work around when they are going through this. This goes well for men too because biology is used as evidence to explain the aggressive behavior they exhibit. One factor that is easily ignored is the environment that individuals live in. Each environment encompasses different cultures, cleanliness, and other external factors that can contribute to an individuals behavior.
