Chapter 12: discuss the relationship between gender roles and ethnicity. Use two different ethnic groups to explain this relationship. Gender roles are a product of culture. African americans: collective culture, lots of stereotypes about black women, greater for men. Latinos: acculturation, family is the central focus, gender roles are sharply defined, discuss how native americans handle gender, especially what is referred to as the two-spirit. They have a term for a third gender: homosexuals, transsexuals, transvestites, describe at least two male-female psychological differences and how they affect sexual behavior. Measured using a penile strain gauge and photoplethysmigraph: describe the difference, if any, between males and females in sex drive. Men have more sex drives than women. Both capable, but cultural gender differences may repress women"s sexuality. Testosterone plays a role: discuss, in terms of person-centered sex and body-centered sex, the progression that men and women make toward each other"s type of sex as they age.
