Have an assortment of membrane bound organelles. Er, nucleus, peroxisome, lysosome, golgi apparatus, plasma membrane, mitochondria, vesicle. The internal membranes create a sorting problem. The proteins carry a destination address and they have to pass through internal membrane bound compartments. Have a network of cytoskeleton filaments transversing through their cytoplasm. Cytoskeleton consists of 3 protein polymer systems: microfilament, microtubules, intermediate filaments. In multicellular organisms, cells must work together to form functional issues . Communicate with each other and respond to their environment. All cell types in the body contain the same dna and become specialized due to differential expression of genetic information .
