The midterm will consist of ve questions and will test on material from sections 13. 6, 14. 2-14. 4 and 15. 1- Tools from single variable calculus will be needed to answer the ques- tions. You will also be expected to know the ba- sic rules of algebra for simplifying expressions and trigonometric identities. Also, a good geometric in- tuition can be helpful on some problems. You might need to draw a picture to answer some questions, but such pictures will be simple to draw. As much as possible the material will be indepen- dent from the rst midterm. In particular there will be no dot products, cross products or projection.
