Note: don"t contact him before looking at the course syllabus and seeing if that answers the questions. Required text: statistics, 4th edition, by freedman, pisani, and purves. This is not a math class, mostly the theory, not the technical details. Read the chapters: not written like most textbooks, flaw: written for people who have no background in math, strength: real-life examples. Intro to statistics without a big emphasis on math (until halfway through); focuses on theory. There"s no permission codes being handed out; class is at capacity. Only people in the first five slots on the waiting list will probably get in to the class. Required, read before you get to class. Very similar (with different words) to homework exercises. Not mandatory, but very helpful for tests. Solutions to homework problems will not be posted/found outside of section discussions.
