Audience: helps us to understand how media impacts our own lives. Government: explains the impact of media on world views/values: na ve theory: theories which are not scientifically supported. Intuition: common sense, self-evident, beliefs based on your socialization. Authority: trust sources believed to be more expert than you. Tradition/tenacity: ideas believed to be true for many years, and which have been passed down. Overgeneralization: apply an observation of a smaller sample to a larger population. Bias: person beliefs could interfere with how you view or report observations. If my brother ate dinner at a restaurant and subsequently developed a fever, that means eating out causes fevers.
