Black utility heuristic (dawson) : the more one believes one"s own life chances are linked to those of african americans as a group, the more one will consider racial group interests in evaluating political choices. Linked faith : the idea that african americans" self-interests are linked to the interests of the race. This suggests that what happens to african americans as a group affects the lives of the in-group members, it is therefore worth thinking about the interests of the group when evaluating one"s own interests. This can be linked to black utility heuristic. Collective action frame : move from acting as individuals in the best interest of one"s group to acting collectively as a group in the best interest of said group. Coordination is one of hajnal and lee"s step to translate identity into politics, it suggest that one can transform the perceived linked fate and black utility heuristic into political action if it is done collectively.
